Job Description:
The Student Affairs Coordinator provides administrative support for the undergraduate studies program in the Division of Applied Mathematics. The Coordinator is a critical part of the team and supports the Director of Undergraduate Studies (DUS), the Undergraduate Committee and the Student Affairs Manager in implementing curricular directives and mandates.
The primary responsibilities include the implementation, administration, and management of undergraduate student programs in the Division of Applied Mathematics in the area of student development, which includes academic support, professional development, and initiatives to support student success.
The Coordinator serves as the first point of contact for a large cohort of students (approximately 500 concentrators).
Education and Experience
+ Bachelor’s degree and 1-2 years’ related experience preferred in higher education, or the equivalent combination of education and professional experience.
+ Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
+ Ability to manage projects, priorities and programs in a constantly changing environment.
+ Ability to acquire sufficient knowledge of academic curriculum to support undergraduates on course selection and related university policies in relation to systems oversight and configuration.
+ Able to handle multiple priorities, and work under pressure in a demanding environment.
+ Ability to listen, to communicate and to relate to others on a professional manner with confidential when needed.
+ Become knowledgeable and current of department and University policies concerning the Student Affairs.
+ Collaborate with department staff, students, and faculty with undergraduate events.
+ Proficient with Microsoft Office, Goggle suites or Filemaker Pro.
+ Desktop publishing tools such as Adobe Acrobat, Illustrator preferred.
+ Web updating skills preferred.
+ Experience with university scheduling systems (CollegeNet, 25 Live, Canvas, CAB, Cognos) a plus.
