Schnabel is looking for a structural welder with piledriving experience to assist with the building of specialty underground structures. Your main responsibility will be cutting and welding structural steel on our projects. This would be for installation of piles, walers, handrail, and other applications.

As a structural welder you will either be part of a pile drivers / carpenters union or join one. You will be an integral part of our team on site and responsible for welding steel beams, steel plates, and other miscellaneous metals while performing basic piledriving duties.
Job Responsibilities
Must be proficient in the use of hand and power toolsUnloads and assembles pile driving hammer and leads.Unloads various types of piling- concrete, pipe, H-piling, timber, and steel sheet pilingFuels, lubricants, and maintains the pile driving hammerUses oxygen/acetylene welding torch to cut steel plates, pipes, beams, etc.Prepares the piling to be driven and assists in positioning and driving pilingResponsible for on-site structural welding that will be visually & X-ray inspected
Qualifications
Ability to read and interpret plans and schematicsMinimum of 2 years of documented experience in a structural welding roleCertified structural welder with a D1.1. Or the ability to pass required weld testsAbility to lift and carry 80 pounds of materials when necessaryLocal and regional travel as required for projects High school diploma or equivalent
Pay will be based on local union wage scales.
