Hiring Team Lead - Senior Structural Engineer!!!

Job Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to lead a team of engineers on high-profile transportation projects, primarily with MTA and Amtrak. As the Team Lead, you will oversee the design and technical aspects of structural projects such as the Broadway Junction in Brooklyn and ADA upgrades across the region. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of experience in structural design, with a strong technical focus and attention to detail. This role involves supervising drafting and drawing development, mentoring junior engineers, and working with modeling and analysis software to deliver innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Leadership: Lead the design and technical delivery of structural engineering projects, including MTA and Amtrak-related work.Design and Analysis: Perform advanced structural analysis and design, ensuring all work meets industry standards and client specifications.Team Supervision: Mentor and manage a small team of 2 junior engineers, providing guidance and technical support while fostering their professional development.Modeling & Software Utilization: Use modeling and analysis software, such as STAAD Pro (or any equivalent software), to conduct structural analysis and develop design solutions. Proficiency in other software is also welcomed.Quality Control: Review and oversee the development of drafting and drawings, ensuring they are accurate and adhere to design specifications. While you will not be directly responsible for drafting, you will guide the drafting team to ensure quality outputs.Client and Stakeholder Communication: Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders to ensure project success, provide technical expertise, and address any design-related concerns.Technical Leadership: Take a hands-on, detail-oriented approach to the design process, contributing to both the conceptual and technical aspects of projects.

Qualifications:

Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in structural engineering, with significant involvement in design and technical leadership on complex infrastructure projects.Technical Expertise: Strong background in structural design, with experience working on MTA, Amtrak, or similar transportation-related projects a plus.Modeling & Analysis: Proficiency in STAAD Pro or similar structural analysis software. Additional experience with other modeling software is beneficial.Team Leadership: Proven experience managing and mentoring junior engineers, with strong leadership and communication skills.Attention to Detail: Highly detail-oriented, with the ability to dive into the technical aspects of design and provide thoughtful, practical solutions.Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (Master’s degree preferred).Licensing: PE (Professional Engineer) license required.
