Structural Engineer Intern

Your Opportunity

Stantec has an opportunity for a highly motivated Structural Engineering Intern to work with our structural engineering staff in North Charleston, SC. Your role is to work with guidance and direction under the supervision of a Senior Engineer, on drafting and investigative tasks, as a team member for new, marine, repair, and/or historic projects. 

Your work will be completed in both in an office setting and, in the field, as required to complete repairs and renovations on existing structures.

Your Key Responsibilities

·         Accurate CAD drafting of quality structural documents,

·         Field assistance with field measurement of existing structures,

·         Technical administrative duties,

·         Reproduction of documents,

·         Distribution of documents, and

·         Electronic and Hardcopy filing.

Your Capabilities and Credentials

Takes initiative on tasks and in coordinating with other members of the design team. Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Computer literacy in AutoCAD, word processing, Excel, and other standard office software is an asset. 

Education and Experience

·        High school diploma with at least one semester of a college level AutoCAD course.

Pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering. 

Typical office environment working with computers at a desk for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
