Job Title: Structural Engineer
Job Description

As a Structural Engineer, you will participate in making history by designing and building a Waste Treatment and Immobilization Plant. This one-of-a-kind facility will transform radioactive and chemical waste left over from WWII and Cold War plutonium production into a state that is safe for disposal. Your efforts will help protect and ensure the safety of nearby river systems, communities, and wildlife throughout the northwest.

ResponsibilitiesOriginate and check complex structural engineering deliverables, such as steel and concrete calculations, specifications, and material requisitions.Review and coordinate technical documents with/from other designers, engineering disciplines, procurement, and construction.Prepare technical reports related to specific design issues.Manage specifically assigned project activities.Assist in constructability reviews.Support construction by dispositioning field change requests and nonconformance reports.Schedule and coordinate off-project review requirements for engineering.Essential SkillsBS Degree in Structural/Civil Engineering and 6 years of professional experience.Passed the engineering in training exam (EIT).Ability to independently execute the detailed design of complex steel and/or concrete structures (MicroStation or AutoCAD).Structural design experience of Nuclear and/or DOE Facilities.Thorough knowledge and application of the AISC Steel Construction Manual, ACI 318, and ASCE 7.Proficient in the use of structural analysis software such as GTSTRUDL or SAP 2000.Experience with CADD applications, such as MicroStation or AutoCAD.Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel.Thorough knowledge of engineering deliverables, such as drawings, specifications, and material requisitions, and of construction methods for concrete and steel structures.Understanding of work processes of other disciplines and departments on projects.Additional Skills & QualificationsAbility to independently execute detailed design of complex steel and/or concrete structures.Work Environment

You will work a 9/80 schedule with every other Friday off, and all work will be performed onsite for the duration of the assignment. You will collaborate with supporting disciplines across the organization to accomplish the work. This position supports a state-of-the-art building project that will help secure the safety of our water supply, communities, and wildlife throughout the Pacific Northwest. Located at the confluence of three rivers near two mountain ranges, the community offers year-round outdoor recreation, 300 days of sunshine a year, more than 200 wineries within a 50-mile radius, and easy access to the amenities of large cities just a three-hour drive (or short flight) to Seattle and Portland. Employment will be through a third-party DBE firm offering 10 days of PTO, 11 holidays, contributed HSA benefits, and 401k.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $60.00 - $70.00/hr.
