Structural Engineer

Responsibilities Perform Structural Engineering for projects within the Mid-Atlantic region that requires the following; + Perform field inspections as a team leader to evaluate existing conditions, documents findings and record measurements in the field + Develop inspection reports, inspection field sketches in CAD, photo appendices and inspection finding recommendations + Operate inspection equipment (underbridge inspection vehicles, bucket trucks, access lifts etc) + Prepare detailed plans for new and rehabilitation bridge designs + Perform engineering design calculations + Develop contract specifications, construction cost estimates and preparation of contract bid documents Requirements + B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Concentration (preferred) + Three-five years of experience in transportation projects for State Agencies in the Mid-Atlantic region preferred (MD, DE, DC, VA) + FHWA/NHI Bridge Inspection Certification + Previous bridge, culvert, ancillary highway structures, and/or tunnel inspection experience + Experience with FHWA Inventory and Element Level data collection + OSHA, SPRAT or equivalent training a plus + Experience with current AASHTO design specifications, design procedures, bridge standards and details, and structural computer models + Ability to develop CAD drawings in Microstation and AutoCAD + Good project management, technical writing and communication skills Benefits Salary range— $80,000-$95,000 annually.
