Job Title: Structural Engineer
Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled structural engineer with over 10 years of experience in structural engineering. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing plant site layouts and designing various structural buildings across client sites. The role involves collaboration with a multi-disciplined team of engineers and suppliers to coordinate the design of structural buildings and structures. This position also involves planning, monitoring, and directing complete engineering efforts throughout project life cycles, as well as developing and implementing risk-informed performance-based (RIPB) design criteria.

ResponsibilitiesDevelop plant site layouts and design multiple structural buildings and structures.Collaborate with a multi-disciplined team of engineers, suppliers, and others.Plan, monitor, and direct complete engineering efforts throughout the project life cycles.Develop and implement risk-informed performance-based (RIPB) design criteria.Assist teams in performing risk and hazard assessments such as probabilistic risk assessment (PRA), failure modes effects analysis (FMEA), and hazard and operability analysis (HAZOP).Evaluate constructability, sequencing, material take-off, cost estimate, schedule development, and modularization concepts for the plant.Essential SkillsBachelor’s degree in civil or structural engineering.10+ years of experience in structural engineering.Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, and Civil 3D.Experience in analysis, design, evaluation, and construction of civil structures.Strong understanding of civil engineering fundamentals, including mechanics, materials, construction techniques, codes, and standards.Professional Engineer (PE) license is strongly preferred.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience with site development, preparation, grading, roadway, survey, and soil mechanics is preferred but not required.Knowledge of civil design software packages such as InRoads and L-pile is preferred but not required.Knowledge of construction methods, codes and standards, quality assurance (QA), and quality control (QC) is preferred but not required.Proficiency in Python is a plus.Work Environment

This position requires working in the office five days a week in Rockville, MD. The organization is focused on the cutting edge of clean energy systems development, with significant investment from major companies like Amazon. The company is projected to double in size by the end of 2025.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $64.90 - $100.96/hr.
