This Opportunity
WSP is looking for **Structural/Bridge CADD Designer, Technical Engineering Support** to join our dynamic team in **_Baltimore, MD_** office.
Takes part in providing structural CADD support on projects to produce plans, details and specifications to be used for transportation and infrastructure business lines. Responsibilities involve generating CADD drawings on various assigned structure and bridge projects of moderate scale and/or complexity. Generates accurate and concise design phase deliverables including engineering contract document, reports, plans and profiles, models, sections, details, specifications, and material lists. Ensures that responsibilities are delivered and adhered to with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards for design, accuracy, and functionality.
Your Impact
+ Collect, compile, and understand data from the physical work site, surveys, structural concepts, blueprints, schematics, data, verbal or written specifications, technical drawings, rough sketches, diagrams, and other matrices to support drafting and design activities.
+ Utilize Bentley MicroStation and AutoCAD software(s) to create engineering contract documents (CADD drawings).
+ Use 3D computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) software and work closely with engineers to resolve design details or discrepancies, and to prepare drawings which require a high degree of precision on projects of basic to moderate complexity and/or scope.
+ Draft and develop engineering contract documents as directed from engineering mark-ups, sketches, detailed drawings, and verbal direction.
+ Make required changes, additions, and/or revisions to existing CADD drawings.
+ Prepare multiple versions of drawings for review by engineers.
+ Assist office staff in use of Bentley MicroStation and AutoCAD software, including trouble-shooting of CAD issues.
+ Assure plans and engineering contract documents adhere to applicable standards, state and federal regulations.
+ Work collaboratively with the engineer-in-charge and other technical professionals on assigned project phases, segments, checks, and tasks.
+ Adhere to WSP USA quality Assurance Policies/Procedures, CADD protocol, as well as client standards and requirements.
+ Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures.
Who You Are
**Required Qualifications**
+ High School Diploma or Technical School Certificate in Drafting/Design or Engineering.
+ Minimum of 3+ years of relevant post-education CADD production experience utilizing Bentley MicroStation and/or AutoCAD software for bridge design or rehabilitation project, with experience in structural detailing.
+ Knowledge of drafting and design support principles, practices, process, methods and techniques.
+ Knowledge of relevant codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.
+ Ability to make technical computations and calculations involving the application of geometry and mathematical concepts, understanding plans and specifications, and making factual comparisons to the appropriate standards or regulations.
+ Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Bachelor’s Degree in closely related discipline is preferred.
+ Experience with bridge and highway structures, in particular structural drawing and detailing.
+ Experience with MDOT SHA, DDOT, and VDOT drafting manual and standards is a PLUS.
+ Prior experience with Bridge Information Modeling, familiarity/exposure to relevant software including Bentley Open Bridge Modeler, Inventor, AutoDesk InfraWorks, etc, and ability to learn and implement on projects of basic to moderate complexity and/or scope.

Compensation
Expected Salary (all locations): $46,800-$77,220
WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location. WSP USA reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional benefits and other compensation, depending on circumstances not related to an applicant’s sex or other status protected by local, state, and/or federal law.
