As the Strategy and Market Intelligence Leader, you will collaborate with business partners to develop analysis and insights to solve business challenges.  You will take ownership of delivering (i) operational, competitive, and strategic insights, and (ii) leading strategic projects to translate those insights into business actions and results.

This role requires close engagement with other functions and teams, such as Regions, Segments, Sales and commercial, Finance, and Business Development (M&A). You will be accountable for functional, business, and broad company objectives. In this role, you will be involved in market intelligence, long-term planning, and strategy.

As Strategy and Market Intelligence Leader, you will also be responsible for:Understanding the market trends and updating marketing forecasts. This includes tracking regional related activity drivers to provide timely and high-quality synthesis-driven research.Leading and delivering timely and accurate market analysis and insights (market, competition & customer intelligence, and analysis)Assessing competitor strategy and performance to develop insights about customer opportunities and future activities; evaluate implications for OFSE and develop appropriate competitive strategiesLeading and participating in strategic projects – e.g., evaluation of potential new markets/products, realignment of businesses, market assessment of potential acquisitionsDelivering elements of strategic planning processes (e.g. annual strategic plan / LRP - Long Range Plan, portfolio analysis, capital allocation etc.) Drive LRP tracking after review.Collaborating with colleagues in other functions, regions, and businesses while translating insights and strategic plans to practical and measurable business actionsEffectively communicating throughout the organization via presentations, webchats, and written communicationOther activities that fall within the remit of the OFSE Strategy and Market intelligence team

To be successful in this role, you will:

Have a bachelor’s degree (required); MBA or advanced degree is preferredHave substantial experience in one or more of: oil & gas industry (including oilfield services and exploration & production), sell-side research, strategy consulting, or industrial marketing/strategyHave dynamic upstream oil and gas industry knowledge, relevant experience, and track recordHave excellent analytics and problem-solving, including ability to form hypotheses and move forward in the absence of complete informationHave the ability to instill a measurable and accountable, results-based culture throughout the Strategy and Marketing functionHave excellent oral and written communication skills, including ability to synthesize complex topics into clear, simple and crisp messagesHave the necessary interpersonal skills to foster collaboration with colleagues across all businesses/cultures and achieve objectives through effective influence,Have a resilient rapport-building ability, which will be necessary to establish credibility with all levels of the organization, including senior leadersBe proactive and a self-starter who is accountable and who exhibits ownership of delegated tasks and projects

Desired Characteristics

Bachelor's degree (MBA preferred) in Finance, Economics, Engineering or equivalent work experience10+ years' experience in the oil field industry, including roles serving the industry in an equity research or management consulting capacityA history of successful mentoring, team member development, and leadershipUpstream exploration and production company experience, in the industry on in an advisory roleAbility to work under minimal supervision
