More details on our benefits can be found on our website at https://www.itw.com/careers/benefits-compensation/ The Metals Strategic Sourcing Analyst assists ITW's Strategic Sourcing Team in creating and executing sourcing strategies that drive cost savings and value across the company's global spend on ferrous and non-ferrous products. This role is pivotal in managing one of ITW's largest global spending categories, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams and different ITW divisions. The position requires a solution-focused mindset, strong problem-solving capabilities, and project management expertise. The candidate would possess the following abilities and skills: + Proactive self-starter with a natural curiosity and a strong desire to learn. + High emotional intelligence with the ability to build trust and cultivate relationships. + Solution-driven thinker with creative problem-solving abilities, capable of methodically analyzing situations to identify key issues and develop innovative, practical solutions. + Strong project management expertise, skilled in creating and executing detailed project plans with clear action items and accountability. + Collaborative team player, adept at leading through influence rather than authority. + Solid business acumen and leadership skills, able to establish rapport with both internal and external stakeholders. + Attentive listener and effective communicator, both verbally and in writing. + Proficient in extracting and analyzing data to provide actionable insights. + Comfortable thriving in a decentralized environment, making decisions even with incomplete data. + Detail-oriented with a focus on ensuring high-quality work. + Skilled at prioritizing and managing multiple projects and responsibilities simultaneously. **RESPONSIBILITIES & KEY DELIVERABLES (including, but not limited to):** **Assist in the development and execution of sourcing strategies in the Metals category by:** + Supporting ITW Divisions in achieving the annual 1% savings target. + Addressing ad hoc supply issues by helping ITW Divisions understand the current situation and implement innovative solutions. + Leading supplier discovery processes and managing RFQ events from start to finish, ensuring high-quality work and meticulous attention to detail. Develop comprehensive project plans with clear actions and ownership, maintaining regular communication with all stakeholders. + Identifying new sourcing opportunities and collaborating in the creation of strategies for untapped areas. + Demonstrating initiative while working within a decentralized culture and fostering relationships with internal and external stakeholders. + Overseeing the extensive quotation process and synthesizing data to support decision-making. + Assisting with the management of annual agreements and contracts. **Research & Reporting Enhancements for Ferrous and Non-Ferrous Products by:** + Providing updates and presentations on project status, spend analysis, and market research as needed. + Analyzing spend data to uncover sourcing opportunities and optimize addressable spend. + Collaborating with internal stakeholders to improve data availability and accuracy, transforming data into actionable insights and value. + Conducting market trend analysis and research within the metals industry, including current market conditions, cost drivers, global supply base, and industry terminology. + Building expertise in commodity markets and the supply base. + Managing strategic relationships with suppliers and market intelligence providers. **Requirements:** + Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college. A degree in Material Science Engineering or Mechanical is preferred + Minimally an internship in Supply Chain, Purchasing or Metals Engineering/Materials Science capacity. Experience in steel industry is a plus + Experienced in using Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and possess knowledge of intermediate functions and formulas (Power BI, PivotTable, VLOOKUP, etc.) + The ability to work full time, 5 days a week at the Glenview, IL corporate campus with flexibility provided on hours + Able to put together creative presentations + Willingness to travel to ITW business locations, supplier sites, internal and industry conferences or training as needed (10%-20%) **Compensation Information:** The compensation package for the role offers a competitive base salary ranging from $74K - $80K annually. ITW considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, geographic location, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.
