Strategic Events Manager

The Strategic Events Manager, First-Party Events is a critical member of the Strategic Events team, focusing on internally produced, first-party strategic events. This role will work closely with the Global Strategic Events Senior Manager, the broader Strategic Events team, and other cross-functional teams to plan and execute a wide range of event marketing programs. A significant focus of this role will be on the global MongoDB.local program, driving lead generation and adoption of MongoDB’s developer data platform. The ideal candidate is a proactive and detail-oriented event professional who thrives in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment. Additionally, this person should be prepared to support the broader Strategic Events team in executing MongoDB’s global events program as needed. We are looking to speak to candidates who are based in London for our hybrid working model. **Responsibilities** + Manage end-to-end event coordination and production, including: + Event messaging/marketing + Materials creation + Signage and branding + Contract negotiation and vendor relations + Site selection and venue coordination + Registration and attendee management + Agenda planning and speaker coordination + Staffing, on-site production, and F&B planning + Post-event reporting and analysis + Work closely with cross-functional teams (Field/Strategic Marketing, Revenue Marketing, Developer Relations, Engineering, Executive Support, etc.) to drive alignment, maximize event visibility, and enablement. + Collaborate with the Strategic Event Operations team to assist with campaign creation, lead flow management, and sponsorship sales and fulfillment. + Effectively manage event budgets and evaluate ROI to optimize performance. + Deliver thoughtful wrap-up reports and ROI analyses to drive continuous improvement. + Generate insights and recommendations for future event optimization. **Success Measures** + Event registrations and attendance + Leads and pipeline generated + Customer satisfaction (NPS) + Program growth and scalability + Increased brand awareness among key target audiences + Embodiment of MongoDB’s Core Values **Who You Are** + Ateam player who thrives in a fast-paced environment and adapts to changing priorities. + A strong communicator with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and persistently drive outcomes. + Highly accountable with a strong sense of urgency. + Detail-oriented while keeping sight of broader goals. + Creative and strategic thinker who also executes at a high level. + Solutions-oriented and resilient with a “get it done” attitude. **Qualifications** + 5+ years of event marketing, event management, or field marketing experience. + Proven ability to develop engaging events that align with business goals. + Strong project management and analytical skills with a data-driven approach. + Experience working independently while collaborating in a global, distributed team. + Excellent written and verbal communication skills. + Experience with copywriting or crafting compelling, audience-centric content. + Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines. + Proficiency in Google Suite, Slack, Zoom, and Cvent. + Willingness to travel ~35% (domestically & globally). + Bachelor’s degree required. + Based in EMEA. **Bonus Points** + Experience working in technology and/or SaaS. + Fluency in a non-English language. + Certified Meeting Professional (CMP) + Familiarity with Salesforce, Jifflenow, Splash, Jira, Tableau, Eloqua, Microsoft Office, and other marketing automation tools.
