Reporting to the Senior Strategic & International Accounts Manager in France, the Strategic Account Manager will be responsible for driving further sales growth with recognised international FMCG and large manufacturing companies across France. 

This dynamic role will suit a new-business sales hunter who enjoys consultative sales and partnering with large international customers and colleagues around the world to achieve strategic goals. Ideally the Strategic Account Manager will be based in Lyon. 

In this role, a typical day will look like: 

Devise appropriate strategies to grow existing accounts and win new customers. This will entail understanding the voice of the customer, internal & external stakeholder partnering, and undertaking competitor and market analysis. Travel 3-4 days a week across part of France to visit with existing & potential FMCG/large manufacturing customers (60-70% new business focus) Understand clients’ requirements, propose solutions at all levels (including equipment, finance and service agreements) and ensure the execution of the entire sales cycle to the highest standards.

The essential requirements of the job include:

New business sales-hunting focused Strategic Account Manager, ideally with experience in Multinational Corporations selling into FMCG/manufacturing environments (i.e. food & beverages packaging, automation equipment etc)Excellent communication (fluent French & English), teamworking skills, and strong commercial awarenessHigh self-motivation, analytical, attention to detail, excellent problem solving, planning & organizing skillsUsed to working in a KPI-focused environment with use of CRM (SFDC etc)Flexible to travel widely across part of France and be away from home overnight 1-2 times a week on average (as per business requirements)
