The Account Manager role is a hybrid sales position that is pivotal to supporting the SMB team,  Account Executives, and Account Directors. This position ensures that SHI's customers receive exceptional service and value in all business interactions, contributing to the CES Business Units' goal of being recognized as the industry's Gold Standard.

 

The Account Manager will work collaboratively with these teams to manage daily business requirements, support customer engagements, and contribute to strategic account planning, while also assisting in managing SMB accounts.

Responsibilities

Including but not limited to:

Customer Support and Relationship Building: Manage daily business requirements for assigned accounts, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction. Support the development and maintenance of strong, trust-based relationships with procurement and operational contacts. Serve as a frontline point of contact to address customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly. Collaboration with Account Teams: Work closely with the SMB team to support solution selling and new market growth initiatives. Cross-selling and upselling SHI’s value to SMB customers Collaborate with the  Account Executives and  Account Directors to align tactical operations with strategic account plans. Participate in joint customer meetings, presentations, and business reviews with the Account Executives and Directors, and represent the SMB team in face-to-face and remote meetings with customers as required.  Sales Support and Opportunity Development: Assist in the preparation and delivery of high-value, complex quotes and proposals. Identify and qualify new business opportunities within named or existing accounts. Contribute to the management and development of a robust sales pipeline. Elevate opportunities to Opportunity Review and assemble the right resources to win the business as required Market and Industry Knowledge: Stay informed on industry trends, market dynamics, and competitive threats to support account strategies. Gain knowledge of SHI’s product and service offerings to effectively position solutions that meet customer needs. Complete all the Sales Enablement required as part of the Gold Standard, leading with Cyber, EUC, ITAM and MSAG Administrative and Reporting Duties: Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, activities, and opportunities in the CRM system. Assist in the preparation of strategic sales forecasts and reports. Participate in the development and delivery of Quarterly Business Reviews for assigned accounts.  Qualifications Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience required. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a customer-facing role, preferably in sales or sales support. Proficiency in MS Office tools – Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams.  Required Skills Customer Focus & Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships. Responsive to customer needs and capable of effectively communicating with internal teams. Organizational Skills: Highly organized with strong time management skills to handle multiple priorities. Ability to accurately document work and manage tasks across various business tools. Operational Excellence:Demonstrates high attention to detail to ensure accuracy and quality in all tasks.Communicates effectively across teams to facilitate smooth operations and clear understanding.Takes initiative to identify areas for improvement and implements effective solutionsAnalytical and Problem-Solving: Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and contribute to strategic account planning. Proactive problem-solver, capable of identifying and removing barriers to success. Adaptability and Growth Mindset: Resilient and adaptable in a fast-paced, changing environment. Committed to personal development and open to feedback and continuous improvement.  Certifications Required Industry recognised sales qualifications or certifications consummate to the role, for example: HPE Hybrid IT 2019 Sales Certification, VMWare Certified Professional. Azure Fundamentals, AWS Professional. Unique Requirements Travel up to 10% of the time to support customer meetings and company events as needed.  Additional Information

By working closely with the SMB team, Account Executives and Account Directors, the Account Manager will gain valuable experience and contribute to the successful execution of SHI’s sales strategies, ensuring exceptional value and customer satisfaction across all account types. 

 

Business working hours are Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:00 with a 30-minute lunch break.
