Your Opportunity
An exciting opportunity is available within the North American Water Team for the position of Stormwater and Flood Resiliency Leader. This position is a key part of the Northern California Water Leadership team and oversees an important part of our growth strategy throughout the region. Projects within the region that include climate resiliency, coastal adaptation, watershed studies, storm drainage, flood management and mitigation will be key.
Your Key Responsibilities
In concert with the regional water business development group, develop and execute a client-focused business development plan / growth plan for our Stormwater and Flood Resiliency business in Northern California. Contribute to the Northern California annual business plan and budget, consistent with this plan.Coordinate and collaborate with our Environmental Services, Community Development, and other business lines; Program Management; Alternative Project Delivery; Federal; and other Water business leaders.
Prioritize Stormwater and Flood Resiliency pursuits and collaborate with regional sales teams through the Go / No-Go process and Top 20/Next 20 pursuit program. Identify applicable targets for Stormwater and Flood Resiliency projects and support the sales teams in providing technical and strategic advice to pursue. In collaboration with regional sales teams, meet with clients to better understand project needs and connect them to our services.
Help develop a strategic staffing plan focusing on key hires needed to grow our presence in the Northern California Stormwater and Flood Resiliency marketplace.
Lead and manage key Northern California Stormwater and Flood Resiliency strategic pursuits to provide a winning approach.
Personally pursue and lead the execution of transformational Northern California Stormwater and Flood Resiliency projects.
Sustain and grow the net revenue of the Northern California Stormwater and Flood Resiliency projects.
Act as a highly regarded leader, thought partner, and a source of counsel and advice for stormwater and floor resiliency; be an ambassador for the Stantec brand, uphold our culture and live our values.
Proactively identify opportunities to reinforce and further develop Stantec’s high performance culture with a focus on innovation, collaboration, quality, and efficiency.
Uphold a corporate culture that promotes ethical practices, encourages individual integrity, focuses on the customer, and service delivery.
Responsible for people management including resource management processes, recruitment, career development, succession planning, coaching and mentoring, and leadership development within Northern California.
Work directly with regional business leaders, regional sales leaders, discipline leaders, and business center leaders to meet net revenue, gross margin, and operating income targets in the groups.

Education and Experience
Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an accredited institution.Masters or PhD degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering preferred.
California Professional Engineer Licensure or ability to obtain within one year.
Minimum 20 years of experience managing pursuits and delivery for Stormwater and Wet Weather projects or an equivalent combination of education (e.g., advanced degree) and experience.
KPIs
Key performance indicators will be set annually in conjunction with annual business and section planning; these include achieving net revenue sales / growth targets; win/ loss ratio on top pursuits; project margin performance, lead by example; collaboration across Water and partner BOUs, and recruiting and retaining experts.Other
This full-time/part-time position is a blend of direct time on projects (65%), client- and proposal- specific marketing (30%), and support of stormwater and flood resiliency team (hiring, people leadership, coordination with other leadership team members 5%). Ability to travel within North America, typically 10%.

At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible.
