Role description:
The Storeroom Supervisor provides direction to the material control function to accomplish the company's strategic plans and objectives.
Responsibilities:
Maintain systems and procedures for requisitioning raw materials, schedule production, record production, material handling, shipping, receiving, and warehousing
Oversee direction of plant purchasing function with corporate direction
Achieve plant inventory metrics as measured by industry benchmarks and corporate goals for inventory turns, cost savings, and price avoidance
Achieve inventory objectives as measured by reducing lead times on orders to customers
Enhance delivery performance and on-time shipments
Ensure conformance to Quality Management Systems
Engage other company personnel to solve problems and enhance overall customer satisfaction
Ensure the accuracy of the information in the Bill Of Materials, inventory, work orders, and transactions
Interact with internal customers and vendors to address customer inquiries regarding order status, scheduling, rescheduling, expediting customer orders, substituting products, and checking availability
Follow Procurement Policy Standards and establishes and documents policies, procedures, and guidelines covering inventory transactions in the plant
Act as backup to maintenance supervisor as needed for weekend coverage
Maintains all environmental and food safety standards as outlined in plant policies and programs within department responsibilities
Comply with environmental and food safety standards as set forth in plant policies and programs within the departmental responsibilities
Minimum skills/qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Five (5) years of experience working with inventory management within a manufacturing environment
Effective written and verbal communication skills
Working knowledge of an asset reliability system
Proficient Microsoft Office Suite
Must be able to work weekends and nights as needed
Ability to travel up to 10%
Preferred skills/qualifications:
Associate's degree in business or a related field
Mechanical aptitude
Prior experience in a supervisory role
