Job Specific
Performs receiving activities according to accepted procedures, verifies receipt of materials and supplies as specified on purchase order documents;Transports materials to appropriate storage area in a timely mannerCompletes computerized receiving reports and transmits receiving documentation Shared ServicesNotifies Storeroom Supervisor and Purchasing of any receiving related discrepancies, to facilitate request for credit or replacement or damaged or discrepant goodsMaintains organized purchase order and receiving documentation filesEnsure proper dating, tagging of all food products, materials placed into storeroomPerforms all operations necessary to maintain the cleanliness and safety of the receiving areaMonitors temperatures in refrigerated storage areasEnsures storeroom cleanliness and adherence to all food safety sanitation requirementsAssists in the performance of monthly/quarterly/annual inventoriesAttends required hotel meetings to: keep abreast of in-house activities/promotions and events; maintain communications with other departments throughout the hotelAttends departmental meetings as required to communicate effectively with all Storeroom/Receiving personnel to ensure that they are kept current with pertinent hotel information and activitiesOther duties as assignedQualifications
Thorough knowledge of meat, produce, seafood and grocery specifications and standard grading classificationsAbility to operate basic office equipment, keyboard 25 wpmWorking knowledge of computer software to include inventory control, Win95, Word, ExcelEffective organizational and communication skillsAbility to work flexible schedule to include weekends and holidaysMust be available Thursday-Sunday. 10 hour shifts and variable shift during the week.
