Store Experiences Program Manager
Overview This job contributes to REI’s success by leading the creation and implementation of resources to support In-Store experiences and programming for all participating store locations. This role builds and manages operational processes, resources, plans, policies, and tools to ensure stores have what they need to successfully implement compelling and authentic in-store programming, to include classes, workshops, and presentations. Working with internal and cross-divisional team members, this role will develop program standards, ensuring the programming operates a profitable and productive business. This role will enable stores to build in-store programs that connect customers to the Co-op and our unique differentiator of expertise through customer education. Program management tools and processes will be used to appropriately manage dependencies among multiple projects and programs. Responsibilities and Qualifications Plans, prioritizes, and leads bodies of work or discrete projects in alignment with In-Store programming goals and objectives. Establishes the measurement of operational objectives and evaluates the success of the operations on a routine basis and provides on-going feedback and communication to partners. Develops requirements for training programs and projects while continuously evaluating the needs of customers and employees. Identifies and provides recommendations for process and program improvements. Research trends, opportunities, threats, competitors and other factors that impact the program and implements improvements in partnership with the manager. Initiates, plans, and delivers medium to large cross-divisional, multi-year initiatives. Utilizes established project management methodology or where appropriate, partners with Project Manager(s) in leading/influencing project implementation. Ensures program quality and success through management of action items, issues, and decisions, assessing risks, initiating change requests, identifying resource needs, meeting deadlines for deliverables, and financial planning. Appropriately escalate barriers to project managers and department leaders. Solicits and collects feedback from partners, stores, and customers to validate recommendations for process and program improvements. Facilitates and leads collaborative cross-functional meetings related to in-store programming projects and programs. Manages and develops assigned budgets for in-store programming programs and/or projects. Manages both external and internal business relationships with vendors, clients, strategic partners, and agencies. May travel to various locations as needed to observe programming, validate understanding of the program(s), and meet with team members. Qualifications 5+ years experience managing medium to large cross-divisional, multi-year training projects and programs with a business and technology focus. 5+ years experience leading training program development and training strategy. 2+ years coordinating project/programming teams. Certification in program management, process improvement (e.g. Lean, Six Sigma), and/or project management (e.g. PMP). Familiarity with training systems and project objectives, as well as the role and function of each team member in a training organization. Actively participates and collaborates with others on one's own team and across REI for the achievement of business goals. Uses business knowledge, innovative thinking, and sound judgment in the solution of problems or the pursuit of business opportunities. Considers the ultimate impact of decisions and actions on internal and external customers.
