Division Summary:
MITRE’s Enterprise Computing, Information, and Security (ECIS) is seeking an experienced Storage Infrastructure Architect with a background in designing, implementing, and supporting storage, virtualization, and cloud technology offerings. Job Description:
+ Design, install and maintain storage, and data protection technologies both in MITRE Data Centers and in Cloud service offerings.
+ Assist the development and implementation of best practices, compliance standards, and security controls for on prem and cloud infrastructure.
+ Participate in an environment that emphasizes trust, open communication, creative thinking, and cohesive team effort.
+ Work in an agile model, delivering assigned stories as part of development sprints.
+ Use data and analytics to understand usages and trends on storage and backup infrastructure.
+ Understand data pipelines so that you can help identify and resolve issues.
+ Provide lifecycle support of enterprise storage and data protection solutions.
Basic Qualifications:
+ 8+ years of data infrastructure technology experience with at least 5 years designing, deploying, implementing, and maintaining enterprise-grade storage and backup solutions.
+ Experience with data lifecycle including data architectures, data storage, system integrations, system maintenance, system migrations, data transfers, and data archival.
+ Ability to perform storage data analytics, reporting, and visualization.
+ Experience delivering highly available and scalable solutions, understanding of different HA and DR techniques.
+ Ability to lead and participate in the research and evaluation of new technologies, hardware, software, services, and implementation processes.
+ Solve complex technical problems, communicate ideas, and plans to a diverse set of colleagues, negotiate technical solutions across teams when needed.
+ Develop and maintain documentation for processes and system configurations, author standard operating procedures for Infrastructure standards.
+ Direct experience collaborating on the design and integration of a broad range of enterprise IT capabilities from multiple vendors spanning functional areas.
+ Effectively manage and track work, regularly communicate status and provide feedback.
+ Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a bachelor’s degree; or 6 years and a master’s degree; or a PhD with 3 years’ experience; or equivalent combination of related education and work experience.
+ Active Secret Clearance, ability to obtain a TS.
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Block, file, object, and archive storage technologies knowledge including Pure, Cleversafe, and NetApp; data protection solutions such as Commvault.
+ Cloud storage and archival services including AWS, Azure Files, and GCP
+ Infrastructure automation and configuration management framework and scripting languages including Ansible, Chef, Python, Ruby, Terraform, PowerShell, etc.
+ CompTIA Security+ or equivalent security certification.
