THE ROLE
The Stewarding Supervisor will be responsible for the cleanliness and sanitation of all production areas. They will work collectively and cooperatively with the Culinary Management team to ensure all culinary production areas are clean and sanitized to meet company and local health regulations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Maintain an inventory of all stewarding equipment, material and supplies. Conduct and supervise scheduled inventories – materials, tools and equipment. Responsible for supervising stewards to ensure cleaning, dishwashing and equipment/supply distribution meets company and local regulations Ordering through Chef and/ or executive Sous Chef required supplies and chemicals Responsible for health and safety activities in the stewarding area. Develop a safety culture by encouraging associates to report hazards and to take prompt corrective action wherever hazards are noted. Assist in training stewards in safe and efficient metQUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, the candidate must be able to perform each essential duty above at the highest levels. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Minimum grade 12 plus additional training in hospitality services required. Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in hospitality / stewarding required-.preferably in a convention centre or large hotel environment A thorough knowledge of the OHSA with a focus on WHMIS and SDS required. A grateful leader with strong communication and mentoring skills required. Practice safe work habits, follow all safety policies and procedures and regulations, complete company-wide safety training and any additional job specific safety training Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, evenings, weekends and holidays WORKING CONDITIONSLocation: On Site
