Across our portfolio of live event venues and corporate offices, we are looking for a Steward in the F & B department at the Broward County Convention Center. This position maintains all Stewarding functions, manages the kitchen stewarding staff and operations, and ensures that all areas are clean and organized to company standards .
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
+ Assist in managing the kitchen stewarding staff and operations.
+ Operating the dish machines and ensures cleanliness of the kitchen.
+ Ensuring that smallware and glass inventories are kept to par and company standards.
+ Responsible for cleaning of all china, glass, silver and serving equipment.
+ Facilitating all plate-up and delivery of all food the prospective functions.
+ Cleaning of all Food & Beverage food prep and servicing areas, to include main kitchen, concessions kitchen and back hallways.
+ Delivery and set-up and breakdown of all equipment to prospective functions.
+ Running and maintenance of the main dish machine.
+ Maintain and clean inventory of small wares, utensils, and kitchen supplies.
+ Works with chemicals and cleaning supplies to keep area, equipment, and utensils clean and sanitary.
+ Set-up and breakdown of all banquet buffets,
+ Maintains safe and sanitary working conditions for kitchen personnel.
+ Other duties as assigned.
Education and/or Experience
+ High School degree/GED or equivalent is required.
+ At least two (2) years of experience in a Food & Beverage environment.
Skills and Abilities
+ Strong ability to work with other staff members in the facility.
+ Results oriented individual with the ability to meet required timelines.
+ Ability to undertake and complete multiple tasks.
+ Must adhere to local Food Codes.
+ Position is very hands on with excessive interaction with staff.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
+ Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with all policies and applicable laws.
+ Supervise kitchen steward staff to meet the expectations of the kitchen department.
+ Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; scheduling; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees.

+ This position requires stooping and lifting. Substantial standing, walking, and pushing and or pulling of equipment. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. to the waste.
+ Constant reaching, standing, walking, and stooping.
+ Performing work through repetitive eye/hand coordination
+ Position requires walking and standing regularly.
+ Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
+ Exposure to heat and cold, dust pollen and fumes.
+ Must be able to work extended and/or irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
