Job Title: Steward / DishwasherDepartment: Food & BeverageReports To: Kitchen ManagementHourly Rate: $18.00 per hour Location: Long Beach, CAJob Type: Part-Time Legends|ASM Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an excellent and immediate opening for a Steward / Dishwasher at the Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center. Stewards are responsible for cleaning small wares, utensils, and kitchen supplies while keeping the area, equipment, and utensils clean and sanitary. They will also maintain safe and sanitary working conditions for kitchen personnel. Please note that Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center Food and Beverage employees are covered by a collective bargaining agreement with Unite Here Local 11, and union membership is a condition of employment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: + Clean and sanitize all dishes, small wares, and utensils. + Organize and maintain proper inventory of small wares, utensils, and cleaning supplies, and reorder as necessary. + Clean and maintain working areas and equipment in the kitchen. + Organize and store perishables for cooks, receiving clerks, and other kitchen staff. + Follow all established Food & Beverage rules and regulations. + Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor. + Lift, move, and carry up to 25 pounds. + Must have a California Food Handler’s Card and maintain certification. + Flexibility to work shifts, including nights, weekends, and overtime. Qualifications: + Education: Must be 18 or older to apply. High school diploma or GED required. + Certifications: ServeSafe certification is required. + Experience: Previous kitchen experience is preferred but not required. + Skills and Abilities: + Ability to take direction and perform assigned tasks efficiently. + Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a clean, organized work environment. + Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adapting to changing needs. Physical Demands: + Must be able to stand and walk for long periods. + Ability to lift and move items up to 25 lbs. + Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, and use hands to operate equipment. + Position requires working inside or outside the building, as necessary for events. + May be exposed to loud sounds during some events.
