Sterile Processing Technician
Job Title: Sterile Processing TechnicianJob Description We are seeking a dedicated Sterile Processing Technician to join our team. You will be responsible for the cleaning, decontamination, assembly, and high-level disinfection of all reusable medical instrumentation. This role requires supporting a high volume of surgical cases and trays daily, ensuring the maintenance of adequate supply levels in the sterile storage area, and rotating stock as necessary. Responsibilities + Clean, decontaminate, assemble, and perform high-level disinfection of reusable medical instrumentation. + Support up to 60 surgical cases (minimum 30 per day) and manage 500-600 trays daily. + Maintain adequate supply levels in the sterile storage area and rotate stock as appropriate. + Pull case carts for the daily surgical schedule. + Work in various areas including assembly, decontamination, steam sterilization, and SPM each day. Essential Skills + 3+ years of experience as a sterile processing technician in a teaching or community hospital. + Experience working within AAMI ST79 standards. + Proficiency with orthopedics, robotics, neuro, endoscope, and spine equipment. + Experience with Steris Sinks, Ultrasonics, Scope Buddy, Electronic Leak Testers, and Steris Cart Washers. + Familiarity with SPM software for surgical instrument and asset tracking. + Experience working with V-PRO equipment for low-temperature sterilization. + Certification from the Certification Board for Sterile Processing Distribution (CBSPD) or the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (IAHCSMM). Additional Skills & Qualifications + CFER certification (preferred but not required). Work Environment This role is based onsite in a fast-paced teaching/community hospital environment. There are two openings for shifts from Monday to Friday, 3:00 PM to 11:30 PM, and one opening from Monday to Friday, 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM. The weekend and holiday schedules are rotated, requiring availability for 1-2 weekends per month. The first two weeks of orientation will be on the first shift from 11:00 AM to 7:30 PM. The work environment involves handling advanced sterilization equipment and ensuring adherence to high standards of medical safety and hygiene. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $19.08 - $25.56/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
