Job Summary
The Supervisor, Sterile Services oversees the daily operations of sterile processing to ensure the availability of high-quality, sterile instruments and supplies for all surgical and procedural areas. This role manages workflows for decontamination, sterilization, assembly, and distribution while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. The Supervisor leads a team of sterile processing staff, focusing on quality assurance, staff development, and process optimization to support patient safety and operational efficiency.
Essential Functions
Qualifications
Associate Degree preferred 3-5 years of experience in sterile processing or surgical services required 1-2 years of healthcare supervisory or team leadership experience requiredKnowledge, Skills and Abilities
Comprehensive knowledge of sterile processing techniques, equipment, and regulatory standards. Strong leadership and organizational skills to manage workflows, inventory, and staff development. Proficiency in quality assurance practices and the ability to analyze sterilization parameters. Effective communication skills for engaging with staff, leadership, and interdisciplinary teams. Ability to identify and mitigate risks associated with sterilization methods and processes.Licenses and Certifications
CRCST - Certified and Registered Central Service Technician required CIS - Certified Instrument Specialist preferred
