HOW YOU'LL MAKE AN IMPACT

Your Role:

Oversees the pharmacy’s sterile compounding area’s daily operations; ensures compounded sterile products (CSPs) are prepared and dispensed safely and efficiently in accordance with regulatory standards and best practices. Displays an understanding of diversity. Demonstrates integrity, compassion, accountability, respect, and excellence (I CARE values). Enhances and contributes to a safe environment for all colleagues, visitors, and patients. Leads and supervises compounding staff members directly; coordinates activities and evaluates individuals' performance. Performs and oversees CSP preparations. Implements and enforces strict clean room protocols. Trains and mentors pharmacy technicians. Conducts regular quality control (QC) checks and audits. Develops and updates standard operating procedures (SOPs). Leads continuous improvement (CI) initiatives. Performs miscellaneous duties not expressly described herein.

Pharmacy Technician I/Non-Cert (JC: 072205)Pharmacy Technician II/Cert (JC: 072305)Pharmacy Technician III/Cert (JC: 072405)Pharmacy Technician IV/Cert (JC: 072705) WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO APPLY

Required Education:

High school diploma or equivalent (e.g., certificate of high school equivalency).Successful completion of a Florida Board of Pharmacy (FLBOP) approved pharmacy technician training program.

Preferred Education:

Associate degree in pharmacy technology.

Required Experience:

Four (4) years of pharmacy experience, including three (3) years of sterile compounding experience.Fully trained in sterile compounding, medication histories, AND chemotherapy, automation (i.e., Pyxis technology and narcotics technology), or decentralized pharmacy technology.

Preferred Experience:

One (1) year of supervisory experience.  Thorough understanding of United Stated Pharmacopedia (USP) General Chapter <797> (USP <797), Pharmaceutical Compounding—Sterile Preparations, and USP General Chapter <800> (USP <800>), Hazardous Drugs—Handling in Healthcare Settings, guidelines.  Ability to stand for prolonged periods.  Technical expertise.  Leadership skills.  Commitment to providing the highest level of patient care.

Required Certification/License/Registry:

Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) credential from the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the National Healthcareer Association (NHA). Certified Compounded Sterile Preparation Technician (CSPT) credential from the PTCB or Sterile Compounding (IV) certification from the National Pharmacy Technician Association (NPTA). FLBOP registration in accordance with Florida Statutes, Title XXXII (Regulations of Professions and Occupations), Chapter 465 (Pharmacy), Section 014 (Pharmacy Technician). -
