Job Description

Lutheran Hospital is looking for a Stat RN to join our team!

Stat RN
Full-time: 0.9 FTE (3 shifts / 36 hours per week)
Shift: Nights, 5p-5a
Holiday rotation
Welcome bonus eligible up to $35,000!

Under the direction of the unit Director/Nurse Manager, this role functions as a clinical resource and role model for co-workers, physicians and other health care personnel. Provides coaching, guidance and offers assistance as needed to enhance the bedside nurse's skill and knowledge base, supports service excellence and patient safety and related areas to meet optimal outcomes. The Stat RN provides support and direct patient care during medical emergencies including Code Blue, STEMI Activate and Stroke Alerts. In addition, the Stat RN provides advanced assessment during RRT (Rapid Response to Treatment), and clinical consultation with bedside staff. We are looking for a multi-skilled professional nurse with in-depth working knowledge, and an extremely high-level of assessment skills, and the responsibility to appropriately prioritize and coordinate patient care needs house-wide when patient care needs change. 

MINIMAL ACCEPTABLE JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Registration/Certification/Licensure: Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse; CPR (Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation) within 3 months of hire

Experience: Three years of critical care experience

Education: Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing

JOB KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

Demonstrates working knowledge of the English language, verbal and writtenDemonstrates thorough working knowledge of multidisciplinary care planning, as well as nursing procedures, equipment utilized and strong knowledge of applicable regulations of a particular patient population, i.e. cardiac care, med-surg., etc.Requires strong working knowledge of the normal growth, development, related behaviors, needs, comfort, and range of treatment appropriate to the age (including neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, geriatric) and diagnosis of patient served to support the provision of an individualized interdisciplinary plan of care.Require strong analytical and organizational skills necessary to perform direct patient care activities, recognize actual and potential problems, and collect data related to unit nursing care concerns.Requires leadership skills in order to provide constructive feedback to peers regarding nursing issues, participate in unit based decision making and support changes madeDemonstrates strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written in order to establish and maintain positive therapeutic/working relationships with all internal and external unit customers, as needed
