Start-Up/SIMOPS Coordinator

Airswift is seeking a Start-Up/SIMOPS Coordinator to work within our client's facilities located in Port Arthur, TX for an initial 1-year contract, with extension.
Permit to Work: Work with the contractor to create a CSU Permit to Work procedure that follows or mirrors the operations Permit to Work procedure using an electronic Permit to Work system. Assist the contractor CSU team in creating CSU LOTO procedures. Start-Up: Be prepared to read and understand start-up procedures, looking for hazards or any possible SIMOPS that may need to be covered in a SIMOPS procedure. Constantly review the start-up schedule to verify if a SIMOPS procedure may be required. Coordination and Communication: Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors, and the contractor to ensure effective best practice start-up and SIMOPS activities are being followed. Communicate with owner project managers to provide updates on equipment status and preservation activities. Compliance and Safety: Ensure all start-up and SIMOPS activities comply with contractor and owner safety regulations. Conduct safety audits and suggest corrective actions as needed. Training and Support: Provide training to team members on SIMOPS procedures. Offer technical support and guidance to the contractor on SIMOPS activities. Education/Experience/Knowledge, Skills & Abilities/ Certifications/ Work Environment: Degree in safety engineering or SIMOPS management is preferred or a related field. At least 5 years of proven experience in LNG plant start-up, SIMOPS planning, or a related field required. At least 5 years of experience working with various industrial safety and SIMOPS activities on a MEGA project required. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams. Proficiency in using SIMOPS management skills. Relevant certifications in safety and/or SIMOPS planning preferred. Location: This role may require working in various locations, including fabrication sites, storage facilities, and owner sites. Physical: Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting and inspecting equipment, ability to climb ladders and stairs. Willingness to travel as needed.
Primary Purpose
The Start-Up/SIMOPS Coordinator is responsible for monitoring contractor commissioning, start-up, and SIMOPS activities during the CSU phase of plant commissioning. This role involves reviewing the implementation of commissioning procedures, start-up procedures, and potentially pre-commissioning procedures. This position will assist in creating and/or reviewing LOTO, PTW, and maintenance procedures, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Verification of Best Practice for Implementing Start-Up and SIMOPS Plans: Verify best practice methods used for written detailed start-up and SIMOPS plans on our client's systems. Ensure plans align with manufacturer guidelines and best industry safe practices. Perform regular audits of all types of equipment start-up and SIMOPS at site and off-site to ensure contractor and operations safety. SIMOPS: Work with the contractor CSU team to verify SIMOPS procedures for operations and/or maintenance activities do not interfere with any other ongoing activity that may cause adverse safety hazards or harm to other persons working nearby. Assist the contractor in holding regular interval SIMOPS workshops throughout the project. Assist the contractor and operations in creating Red Blind and Blind Control procedures for CSU and operations.
