**Job Summary and Qualifications**
· The Staffing Coordinator performs and oversees a variety of duties requiring knowledge of hospital policies and procedures and the Collective Bargaining Agreement for the facility.
· The Staffing Coordinator will perform and oversee duties to enhance the overall function of all nursing units in the Department of Nursing Service as it relates to staffing, schedules, contract labor utilization, procurement of staff via Parallon and forecasting of needs related to staffing.
· The Staffing Coordinator will oversee completion daily payroll input in payroll system for contract labor and float pool staff with validation from director.
· The Staffing Coordinator will interact with all nursing directors, assist in standardization of best practices related to staffing, and assist in writing of policies and procedures related to the overall function of the staffing office.
· The Staffing Coordinator will assist the department directors with the oversight of the float pool schedules and hours.
· The Staffing Coordinator will oversee and administer the Facility Scheduler program, will validate all in the facility, clinical and ancillary schedules are completed as specified, will validate that all metrics have been met as much as possible on each unit.
· The Staffing Coordinator will oversee and maintain a 4-6 week staffing grid indicating needs and will assist in making sure that the schedules are balanced across the departments to reduce large staffing variances in each area of Nursing, ie: Med Surg, Critical Care.
· The Staffing Coordinator will oversee functions in the Staffing office, works closely with the House Supervisor and PPC to provide completed updated staffing information for each shift.
· The Staffing Coordinator will collect data related to upcoming/anticipated staffing vacancies and will keep this information up to date to assist in the determination of contract labor needs.
· The Staffing Coordinator will validate readiness to work for all contract labor staff prior to the start of the first shift ie: access provided to Meditech, access to mobilab, Vocera, Imobile, Pyxis, and blood glucose monitoring system. The Staffing Supervisor will schedule the new contract labor candidate with the education department prior to the first start of shift.
**Education:**
· High school diploma or GED **required.**
· Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree preferred
**Experience:**
· Previous hospital staffing department experience **required.**
**Skills:**
· Excel, Word proficiency **required**
· Kronos timekeeping system knowledge **required**
· Ability to multitask and develop projects
· Knowledge of skill mix and staffing pattern preferred
· Ability to positively communicate with hospital staff, Nursing leadership, administration and general public
· Highly organized
