Staff VP AI Technology

Summary:  Key Leadership role responsible for overseeing the AI strategic initiatives that optimize the value of artificial intelligence across the enterprise; enabling multiple business needs including improving service; and driving adoption of AI and analytics across enterprise.

Location:   Richmond, VA; Atlanta, GA; Chicago, IL; New York, NY.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Vision and AI Transformation

Develop & Communicate AI Vision: Formulate a clear, forward-looking AI strategy that aligns technical initiatives with the organization’s broader business objectives.Roadmap for AI Integration: Define and execute a roadmap for integrating AI capabilities into business workflows, identifying high-impact use cases that drive efficiency, productivity, and innovation.Implementing AI solutions at scale: Experience deploying AI solutions into business workflows at scale and driving transformational impact to business processes and operationsConsultation with Business Leaders: Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership and key business stakeholders, translating complex AI concepts into actionable business strategies.

2. Technical Leadership and Innovation

Establish Best Practices: Develop, enforce, and continuously refine standards for AI, machine learning, and advanced analytics methodologies to ensure robust, scalable, and ethical implementations.Scalable AI Solutions: Lead the design and deployment of AI models and advanced analytics solutions that are scalable and repeatable across diverse business functions.Emerging Trends: Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry best practices in AI, driving internal innovation and competitive advantages.Technically Deep: Have direct experience coding and developing AI solutions, including traditional and Generative AI solutions, which are deployed into production

3. Team Leadership and Competency Building

Leadership Experience: Must have 5+ years’ experience leading a direct report team of data scientists as well as leading large teams with managers of teams with experience of developing and delivering a high performance culture.Build a High-Performing Team: Recruit, mentor, and empower a team of data scientists, AI engineers, and analysts, ensuring that technical competencies, innovative thinking, and ethical practices are deeply embedded across the team.Cross-Functional Collaboration: Foster cross-departmental partnerships to ensure that AI solutions are seamlessly integrated into existing processes, enhancing overall business performance.Continuous Learning: Promote and implement professional development and training initiatives in AI and advanced analytics to build internal expertise and drive organizational transformation.

4. Client and Stakeholder Engagement

Business Consulting: Act as a lead consultant for internal stakeholders and external clients to understand their challenges and advise on tailored AI solutions that deliver measurable business value.Change Management: Drive change management initiatives to support widespread adoption of AI initiatives, ensuring smooth transitions and sustained business benefits.External Thought Leadership: Represent the organization externally as a thought leader in AI and data science, contributing to industry discussions through conferences, publications, and events.

5. Governance, Ethics, and Risk Management

Responsible AI Implementation: Oversee the establishment of governance frameworks that ensure responsible and ethical AI practices across all projects.Quality Control: Institute rigorous quality assurance protocols and ethical guidelines for AI models, data pipelines, and analytics outputs to maintain transparency, fairness, and reliability.Regulatory Compliance: Work with legal, compliance, and risk management teams to ensure all AI initiatives meet existing regulatory standards and internal policies.

For candidates working in person or remotely in the below locations, the salary* range for this specific position is $221,520 to $398,736.
