The Opportunity: 

We are looking for Versatile, curious, and energetic Software Engineers who embrace solving complex challenges on a global scale.  As a Visa Software Engineer, you will be an integral part of a multi-functional development team inventing, designing, building, and testing software products that reach a truly global customer base. While building components of powerful payment technology, you will get to see your efforts shaping the digital future of monetary transactions.   

As a Staff Software Engineer, you will be part of our Acceptance Solutions Engineering team to help design, enhance and build our transactional platform in an agile development environment. You will work with colleagues, who will support and challenge you daily. You will play part of multiple teams tasked with multiple projects ranging from building full stack development of real-time transactional services, REST services API, Container based services to highly functional, secure, scalable and resilient real time and batching systems. You will work on unit testing, code reviews and regular check-ins to continuous integration that will become part of your DNA.

Essential Functions:

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 2 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 0 years of work experience with a PhD, OR 8+ years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Qualifications
6 or more years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree or 4 or more years of relevant experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or up to 3 years of relevant experience with a PhD
You have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field and 6 or more years of Software Development Experience or a Masters with 4 or more years of Software Development Experience
You have expertise of Core Java, JEE technologies, REST and container-based technologies
You have experience in application development frameworks like Vert.x, Spring etc. and have knowledge of Asynchronous programming
Understand the Security requirements and standards, and contemporary trends in Security risks as well as technologies
Experience in security domain with authentication, authorization and building secure gateway
Experience developing & deploying services in a multi-cloud environment like GCP, Azure & AWS.
You have experience architecting solutions with Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery in mind
Ability to understand customer requirements and processes to develop creative solutions
Ability to see and understand the big picture, you’re able to stay focused on the task at hand to achieve immediate goals
You’re great at systematic and accurate research wanting to uncover the smallest detail
You have amazing work ethics that will help us all work extremely well together

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 124,700.00 to 180,650.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
