Staff Software Engineer - Delivery Platform (UberEats)
**About the Role** You will be joining the UberEats Order Platform Team. This team supports mainly 3 tracks - Keeping standards for existing platforms to run the business, supporting core products that need changes at the platform level, and writing the Next-Gen order platform that could spawn new delivery verticals quickly, is maintainable, and scalable. **What you will do:** As a Backend Engineer in the Order Platform Team at Uber and being part of Grocery/Consumer Fulfillment org, you’ll be working on code that’s closest to the business and is capable of scaling millions of transactions over years to come. The work you do will impact live Delivery orders across the globe. You will engage with stakeholders across teams to lead the development and maintenance of backend services and solutions to support user-facing products used across Uber Eats. You will mentor other backend engineers on the team while raising the overall engineering quality bar while ensuring the reliability of platforms/services. **Basic Qualifications:** - 7+ years of software engineering experience. - BS or MS in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience. - Strong programming (we mainly use Go, Java & Python) and debugging skills. - Experience in building distributed fault tolerant systems and deploying high-performance production services with robust monitoring and logging practices. **Preferred Qualification:** - Microservices architecture - Distributed systems - Reliability and observability For San Francisco, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$218,000 per year - USD$242,000 per year. For Sunnyvale, CA-based roles: The base salary range for this role is USD$218,000 per year - USD$242,000 per year. For all US locations, you will be eligible to participate in Uber's bonus program, and may be offered an equity award & other types of comp. You will also be eligible for various benefits.
