This position reports to: Sr. Manager, Security Data Platform Engineering

Security Data Platform Engineering is looking for a Staff Security Data Engineer. This role will focus on supporting Cribl, our integration tool that sends machine log data into our different data lakes.

What you get to do in this role:

Work with the Security Data Platform at ServiceNow which consists of Cribl and Splunk. Ensure the logging platform meets specification in terms of business requirements, application design, and infrastructure performance.Build relationships throughout the enterprise to bring internal business stakeholders and their data into the logging platform.Provide coaching and mentorship to technology teams to enable their use of the logging platform to satisfy their business goals.Share responsibility for the implementation and maintenance of the logging infrastructure and configuration.Work with key stakeholders on developing automations and integrations for the logging platform.Document products and deliver demos to team members.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role you have:

Experience in leveraging or critically thinking about how to integrate AI into work processes, decision-making, or problem-solving. This may include using AI-powered tools, automating workflows, analyzing AI-driven insights, or exploring AI's potential impact on the function or industry.8+ years of related experience or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.Cribl edge and stream administrator certifications required.Strong knowledge and experience with on-premise Cribl stream and Cribl edge.Strong knowledge and experience with working with Linux (RHEL 8) environments and comfortable with command line access.Knowledge of how to properly size a Cribl environment to ingest 100+ TB/day in a geographically diverse multi-site environment.Strong experience with JavaScript and Shell scripting is required.Knowledge and experience with Splunk architecture, interface, and SPL is desirable.Familiarity with cloud-native technologies (Kubernetes, containers, AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.) is desirableAbility to communicate effectively at all levels of an organization.Participate in on-call rotation

Please Note: This position will include supporting our US Federal customers.

This position requires passing a ServiceNow background screening, USFedPASS (US Federal Personnel Authorization Screening Standards).

This includes a credit check, criminal/misdemeanor check and taking a drug test. Any employment is contingent upon passing the screening.

Due to Federal requirements, only US citizens who are able to acquire a Public Trust Clearance (PTP), will be considered.
