Staff Localization Engineer (m/f/d)

Localization Engineers are the enablers of Localization. They make Localization possible, repeatable, time and cost efficient. They apply localization engineering technical and professional knowledge, skills and judgment to accomplish results.

 

In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

Assess the internationalization readiness of content to be localized Troubleshoot localization and translation projects throughout the whole lifecycle, including the conversion of the different formats to translatable form and the back-conversion into the original formats Update and add new configuration in TMS/CAT tool based on new process, updates and new requirements Share ideas for improved quality, process automation or new tool suggestions  Support all internal Localization stakeholders with technical issues and extend support to localization vendors.

    For This Role, You Will Need: Experience with all different types of XML from different systems’ string manipulation through regex, XPath, JsonPath, Python or other programming tools Mastery of Localization industry standards as Unicode and other character encodings, XML and common file formats, XLIFF. Solid knowledge of software development common technologies: source code control, software frameworks and common localization formats. Experience with parsers/scripting Ability to manage multiple projects and deliver under tight schedules Written and verbal mastery of English, and Ability to work autonomously with global teams 
 
  Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart: Formal education or equivalent and relevant qualifications, and previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 5 years). Solid knowledge of the most common Localization technologies, content management systems (CMS, Web delivery tools) and localization workflows. Phrase, Tridion preferred.
