**General Summary:**
Qualcomm’s in-house Snapdragon Game Studio is seeking a Level Designer with Unreal Engine and/or Unity experience to help create game levels and shapes gameplay experiences using the game’s mechanics and systems. You’ll develop levels from concept to playable prototypes, collaborating with various teams to deliver polished, narrative-driven experiences to AAA standards.
**Minimum Qualification**
+ Minimum 8+ years of experience in Game Development with significant being as Level Designer
+ Shipped a project from start to finish as a Level Designer.
+ Experience working in Unreal Engine 5 and using Blueprints
+ Excellent sense of 3D game space and environmental storytelling
+ Excellent communication and documentation skills
+ Self-motivated, able to envision and implement level improvements with autonomy that are in keeping with the game’s direction.
+ Strengths in another core discipline (e.g. environment art, animation, engineering).
+ Ability to design, conceptualize, and create playable 3D game levels using level editors or game engines (e.g. Unreal Engine, Unity, etc.)
**Preferred Qualifications**
+ Build blockouts for levels that are engaging, readable, and align with the level vision. Collaborate with the art team to ensure these are visually compelling.
+ Collaborate with other designers to ensure consistency, scope, and quality of content.
+ Set guidelines and metrics for the level designers to build quick prototypes for levels.
+ Conceptualize and prototype the layout of 3D game environments, player goals, and activities.
+ Work closely with environment art, quest design, and systems design teams to meet established art and design goals.
+ Regularly play game content and provide constructive feedback to fellow designers.
+ Own the quality, functionality, and stability of your level throughout its lifecycle, from pre-production to final polish and bug fixing.
+ Collaborate with art, engineering, animation, VFX, and audio teams to implement their content into the game, providing feedback to uphold the level vision.
+ Prioritize time effectively to meet deadlines, working with production to ensure levels are correctly planned and scoped.
+ Stay up to date on current trends, best practices, and latest technologies in your field of expertise.
**Education Requirements**
Preferred: A BFA or BA Degree in Art, Graphics Design or have received equivalent on-the-job experience.
**Minimum Qualifications:**
• Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Design Graphics, Computer Science, or related field and 3+ years of experience with relevant gaming art software (e.g., Zbrush, Maya, Blender) or related work experience.
OR
Associate's degree in Fine Arts, Design Graphics, Computer Science, or related field and 5+ years of experience with relevant gaming art software (e.g., Zbrush, Maya, Blender) or related work experience.
OR
High School diploma or equivalent and 7+ years of experience with relevant gaming art software (e.g., Zbrush, Maya, Blender) or related work experience.
