About the role

The Security Services organization is responsible for building core security products and features, such as Data Loss Prevention, web security, IPS, Malware and Threat Prevention, and Breach and Anomaly Detection. We apply artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies across the Netskope cloud security platform. As part of the Security Services organization, the web security team is responsible for continuous enhancement and enrichment of our URL filtering, URL categorization, threat intelligence, and security infrastructure capabilities.

As a member of the security services team you will play a key role in the design, development and operation of the security services that power the Netskope Security Cloud. You will work across development, research and product management teams to craft innovative solutions to the most challenging problems our customers face, and use your passion for and expertise in threat protection, malware detection, web security and network security to help drive the continued evolution of our market-leading products. What you will be doing

You will be an integral member of our artificial intelligence, security research, development and analytics team responsible for the design, development, maintenance, and support of distributed cloud threat big data applications, with an emphasis on web and threat content generation and update. Partner with product managers, data scientists, threat researchers and data analysts to better understand customer requirements, find bottlenecks, and provide solutions. Design, develop and support large-scale threat/web data collection, data analytics systems, machine learning model pipelines, tools, and micro services leveraging public cloud infrastructure. Provide timely support on web security infrastructure, URL filtering, and URL categorization efficacy customer escalations.

Required skills and experience

The ideal candidate will have true startup spirit and be willing to wear multiple hats and deliver end-to-end solutions in a dynamic fast-paced environment. 8+ years of research/analyst/development experience building products/services of web security, URL filtering, URL categorization, web reputation, malware analyst/detection, threat intelligence, Web threat hunting/sourcing. Having customer support/escalation handling experience will be a plus. Knowledgeable in web content identification/classification (malicious, non-malicious with proper category). Knowledge in web based threats or attacks will be a plus. Experienced in developing tools and technologies for web threat detection (e.g. heuristics, regular-expression, rules). Proficient in at least one of these programming languages: Python, Java, C/C++. SRE/Devops/testing experience is a plus. Excellent communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills. Can-do attitude on problem-solving, quality and ability to execute and willing to work with flexible time.

Education

BSCS or equivalent required, MSCS or equivalent strongly preferred
