Role Summary/Purpose
The Staff Data Architect will be responsible for strategizing and developing database specific technology solutions in the Wabtec Transportation. As part of this role, the Staff Data Architect would be working closely with the Functional and Enterprise teams/architects across various applications, DB, CoE and Infrastructure teams to deliver right business outcomes.

Qualifications/Requirements
Masters or Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Information Technology or Computer Science
15+ years of Database design, modelling and architecture experience.
Architect, design and implement data architecture solutions that meet business requirements and align with the overall enterprise strategy.
Experience in data designing, modelling, and executing on cloud distributed system. Eg: AWS/Azure
Managing end-to-end data solution, from identifying the platform, designing the data architecture, developing the application solution to eventually driving testing and implementation of the proposed data solution
Define, streamline and establish best practices with respect to overall data management
Experience in leading a team of 2 to 3 members and able to manage as a work leader
Establish continued rigor on cost, performance, integrity and security of data with audit and relevant mechanisms
Hands-on experience in implementation and performance tuning, data migration, also having an understanding of various performance and monitoring tools; Exposure to tools like OEM( ASH, AWR report analysis skill)
Comprehensive experience in data governance, testing, security, and compliance frameworks
Exposure to Data modeling tools– ERWin etc, ETL experience
Experience with OLTP, DWH, Datamarts, Data lake, Document DB, NoSQL database
Drive Privacy & Security Controls for Sensitive data, PHI data classification and enable data access patterns based on data consumption for functional users, and Applications
Support the engineering leadership in terms of scrum team op mechs (estimation, sprints, backlog creation, Release Planning, and cadence for delivery).
Lead the research and evaluation of emerging technology, industry and market trends to assist in development and/or operational support activities.
Drive Data Engineering standards within the team and meet all business/project metrics
Nice to have:
Exposure to multi-cloud platforms like AWS Native knowledge, Oracle, Azure
Experience on Exadata platform and data warehouse solutions on internal or external cloud platforms
Hands-on experience on SQL and stored procedures
DevOps experience and exposure to any CI/CD deployment tools
Understanding of Oracle REST Data Services (ORDS)
Certifications on AWS, Oracle Database and so on , if any
Desired Characteristics:
Prior Experience in software product development
Ability to work with cross-functional enterprise teams, vendors/partners for robust data solution development
Strong analytical and Influencing skills with proven experience to design / develop solutions in a matrix / global environment
Should be able to think strategically and at the same time be able to execute the strategy at a tactical level
High energy, Customer Passion & attention to details
Ability to operate in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency, ownership, and accountability
Experience leading design reviews for large system software designs
Experience with multi-threaded, concurrent systems
Working in Agile/DevOps environment
Adaptable/Flexible: being open to change in response to new information, different or unexpected circumstances, and having the ability to navigate ambiguous situations
Good stakeholder management skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
