Position Title: Staff Compensation & Benefits Analyst – India

Location : Bangalore.

Position Summary:

Develop, implement, and administer the Company’s compensation and benefits policies and programs. Analyze employee demographic, associated risk exposure and cost containment strategies for benefits programs. Administer and communicate the company’s benefits programs, policies, features and enrollment requirements; assist employees with benefit inquiries. Develop frequently asked questions and responses on benefits programs. Liaise with organization’s vendors and partners on benefits and claims processing. Ensure company compliance with relevant laws governing both compensation and benefits practices.

Support compensation and benefits analysis by gathering local intelligence and market data to support recommendations. Participate in compensation/benefit surveys to analyze company’s competitive position. Review proposed salary adjustments for conformance to established guidelines and recommend corrective or alternative actions to resolve compensation-related issues. Administer both domestic and international programs, and support countries in the APAC region from time to time as a member of the regional C&B COE.

Individual responsibilities may change due to business needs, and other related duties may be assigned.

Scope of Responsibilities:

Ensure all compensation and benefit program proposals balance affordability and competitiveness, are aligned with Illumina’s overall philosophy and business objectives, and meet all legal requirements.

Support annual compensation and benefit events, such as annual compensation cycle process, annual insurance benefits renewal and monthly employee benefits enrollment process.

Advise the application of existing principles and supports development of new policies and ideas. Understand the interrelationships of different disciplines and ensure alignment with global and regional philosophy.

Work on complex assignments where problem solving requires in-depth evaluation of varying factors and practices/procedures must be determined.

Plan and implement changes to compensation and benefits programs, engaging stakeholders, mitigating risks, and providing clear communication and training to ensure smooth transitions and alignment with organizational goals.

Communicate complex compensation and benefits information in a clear and understandable manner to employees and senior management.

Craft clear and informative documents, FAQs, and reports related to compensation and benefits.

Enhance internal and external working relationships and networks with key contacts outside area of expertise.

May train and mentor junior level staff.

Support regional COE activities as required.

Experience/Education:

Master’s Degree with a minimum of 8 years of compensation and benefits experience in an MNC environment.

Possess strong knowledge of compensation and benefits legislation and compliance for India.

Experience supporting other regions will be advantageous

Experience with Surveys:  should have experience running 1-2 compensation & benefits surveys

Experience using Mercer tools is preferred or other C&B tools.

Problem-Solving Skills: The candidate should demonstrate strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to handle complex challenges.
