Staff Category Business Manager

Programmable DNA, the software of Life, is finally here! Twist Bioscience is developing a
disruptive Synthetic DNA technology that will change the world, enabling widespread health and
sustainability. Synthetic biologists will use our products to engineer how organisms produce
cures to diseases, make everyday chemicals by using the atmosphere as the carbon source,
enable plants to make their own fertilizers, and to create in-vivo diagnostics that alert us when
we are sick, and many more applications.


The Staff Category Business is responsible for developing and applying best-practice processes and policies across indirect procurement, including spend analytics, savings and initiative tracking, sourcing tool configuration and application. Candidate will focus on end-to- end sourcing process, including market analysis, supplier selection, RFP preparation and analysis and KPI development/tracking. The ideal candidate should demonstrate sound knowledge of negotiation strategies and extensive experience in a similar role.


What You’ll Be Doing 


• Developing and implementing key Categories roadmaps.
• Negotiating contracts with key suppliers, including costs and terms of supply, service,
and quality.
• Drive Market analysis, supplier selection per category as Capital Equipment, IT and
consultancies.
• Prepare and execute RFI/RFPs and lead bid analysis and evaluation.
• Estimating risks and applying risk minimizing techniques focusing on business
continuity as well as reducing Sole and Single sources.
• Maintaining strategic sourcing relationships and developing strong partnerships.
• Uphold internal and external policies, regulations and laws
• Follow regulatory and ISO 13485.


What You’ll Bring to the Team 


● B.A at Business, Industrial Eng, Life Science or related field or equivalent work experience.
● 10+ Years’ experience as a Global Sourcing leader or in a similar position.
● Deep Capex or IT commodity business management.
● Experience with RFQ implementation and execution
● Superb communication skills.
● Advanced ability to collaborate and negotiate.
● Excellent organizational and time management skills.
● Exceptional analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
● Willingness to travel to develop, promote, and maintain strategic sourcing relationships.

The base cash compensation for this California-based role is below. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for bonus, equity, and a generous benefits package. Final compensation amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate skill, experience, expertise, and location and may vary from the amount listed above. Compensation may be different in other locations.San Francisco Bay Area Pay Range$125,000—$150,000 USD
