Sinclair Broadcast Group’s Corporate Accounting department is seeking a staff accountant.

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Daily administration of fixed assets, including gaining a thorough understanding of the company’s fixed asset software system Prepare monthly journal entries, including but not limited to, asset additions and retirements, sales, depreciation, amortization, and adjustment and reclass entries as necessary Update fixed assets system for newly acquired station’s and prepare adjusting journal entries if necessary Prepare the annual budget and quarterly forecasts for depreciation and amortization while being able to determine variances Reconcile the fixed asset sub-ledger to the general ledger on a quarterly basis through preparation of the consolidated fixed asset rollforward Provide excellent customer service and maintain effective communication with station personnel by responding to requests in a timely manner Reconcile CIP account tracking costs by project, communicating with project managers on project status and reclassing items into production upon completion Respond to audit requests in a timely manner, providing accurate and appropriate supporting schedules and work papers Complete ad-hoc projects to support the Corporate Accounting team as necessary

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (1-2 years of accounting experience in a Corporate setting or public accounting is required) Working knowledge of the general ledger, financial statements, budgets and forecasts, and internal controls Strong aptitude for accuracy and attention to detail Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, professional environment Desire and ability to work in a team environment and communicate well with others Possess strong analytical and organizational skills Strong Excel skills required Oracle experience is a plus
