Staff Accountant - System Wide

This is a Remote/Work from Home position. Must live in the continental US and be able to work eastern time zone hours.

Primary Function/General Purpose of Position

Responsible for performing a variety of general accounting functions for BSMH in accordance with general policies and procedures of the Accounting Department.

Essential Job Functions

Maintains general ledger accounts in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and BSMH policy and researches exceptions

Creates and uploads monthly journal entries

Prepares assigned monthly journal entries and schedules in preparation for monthly closing for the following areas: Accruals, Non-Acute accounts receivable, PP&E

Prepares monthly reconciliations of general ledger accounts like: patient accounting, cash and inventory

Reconciles assigned system interfaces to general ledger posting for all assigned areas

Prepares data necessary to prepare the monthly financial statements for all assigned areas

Prepares month-end reports for distribution to all internal and external parties for all assigned areas

Provides to all departments: Financial reports, Support documentation, and assistance in understanding the financial operations of their assigned areas

Compiles monthly statistical information

Prepares assigned schedules for the annual audit

Reviews and interfaces with GL expense information submitted with P Cards / T Cards

Executes system-level entries across hospital markets

Maintains petty cash process, including assignment of local custodians and maintenance of the master petty cash log

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or comparable discipline (required)

Work Experience

1 year of experience in a general accounting function (preferred)
