Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or any other related field of study

3+ years experience within accounting

Experience with month-end, journal entries, and reconciliation

Experience with mid to large ERP systems

Manufacturing experience preferred

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing month-end journal entries, reconciliation schedules, and cost accounting processes. Additionally, the Staff Accountant will collaborate with various departments to ensure the accuracy of financial records and meet quality management objectives.

Responsibilities include:

Key and post month-end journal entries and reconciliation schedules.Reconcile all asset and liability accounts accurately.Collaborate with production, purchasing, quality, and higher-level management to achieve assigned goals.Ensure timely completion of daily inventory cycle counts for all locations and verify the accuracy of reported counts.Analyze changes in goods or services to determine their impact on costs.Conduct monthly inventory test counts for work in process (WIP).Verify inventory cost records (material, labor, outside processing) using random sampling and correct variances.Perform inventory-related month-end close activities related to cost accounting processes.Collect and analyze data on labor performance, historical labor patterns, month-end inventory patterns, and delivery performance to identify trends and ensure adherence to cost accounting controls.Assist the Controller in preparing monthly operating and financial cost reports, providing analyses, identifying problem areas, and recommending solutions.Verify cost accounting and statistical data for cost analysis and maintain the organization's cost accounting system, documents, and records.Prepare and complete internal cost audits.Comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements.Log detailed records of analyzed data.Analyze manufacturing costs and prepare regular reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs.Estimate costs for new and proposed products.Provide management with reports comparing factors that affect product or service prices and profitability.Manage the company's balance sheet and accounting books.Assist in audits and general ledger preparation.Conduct physical inventories and monitor the cycle count program.Undertake various ad-hoc projects as determined by the Controller.Prepare state and local forms, including Sales Tax, Property, Business, Environmental, Census, and Year-End 1099s.Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $70000.00 - $80000.00/yr.
