Staff Accountant

You will manage accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely and accurate transactions. Your role will also involve conducting monthly reconciliations of bank accounts and general ledger accounts, assisting in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts, and generating financial reports for management review, including variance analysis. Additionally, you will ensure compliance with governmental regulations and reporting requirements, utilize financial software such as PeopleSoft and Sage for data entry and reporting, mentor junior accounting staff, support audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations, and perform accrual accounting tasks to ensure accurate financial reporting. Essential Skills + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. + Proven experience in financial accounting, preferably within a governmental context. + Proficiency in accounting software, including Cargo Wise experience. + Strong understanding of accrual accounting principles. + Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail. + Ability to write clear and concise financial reports. + Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. + Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience in the logistics industry. + Expertise in ERP software such as Cargowise or Arco. + Bilingual in Mandarin. + Previous mentoring or training experience. Work Environment You will work in a fast-paced logistics industry environment, which is busy all year round and processes several payments monthly. The role requires the use of financial software such as PeopleSoft and Sage. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $31.25/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
