Staff Accountant
Description We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity for a Staff Accountant for a Non-Profit Organization in Honolulu, Hawaii. As a Staff Accountant, your main duties will encompass a broad range of accounting tasks, including managing accounts payable and accounts receivable, maintaining databases, and resolving customer inquiries. Responsibilities: • Efficiently handle account receivable tasks, such as invoicing and updating client accounts based on payment or contact information. • Manage accounts payable duties, including communicating with vendors and customers to arrange payments and address any inquiries or disputes. • Accurately process and record payments in databases, preparing deposits as necessary. • Maintain the accuracy of our accounting databases and spreadsheets, updating information as needed. • Regularly prepare spreadsheets using Microsoft Excel for various accounting needs. • Handle the submission of grant reimbursement requests in a timely manner. • Keep track of payments and update client accounts based on payment or contact information, while also verifying billing information. • Address and resolve any questions and complaints, investigating and rectifying discrepancies as they arise. • Contact debtors to inquire about their payment status, which may involve mailing statements, collection letters, and making collection calls. • Print collection/aging reports for review and action. • Regularly perform account reconciliation to ensure the accuracy of all transactions. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an accounting role. • Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) management. • Demonstrable experience with month-end close procedures. • Proficiency in using Quickbooks Online for financial transactions and record-keeping. • Strong skills in Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting. • Experience in managing and maintaining databases for financial records. • Proven ability in Vendor Management to ensure timely and accurate payments. • Experience in preparing deposits and managing bank transactions. • Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, ensuring accuracy of financial data.
