Staff Accountant
Description We are offering a long term contract employment opportunity in the Stone/Glass/Concrete Manufacturing industry, specifically for a Staff Accountant, to be stationed in Harleyville, South Carolina, United States. As a Staff Accountant, your main duty will be to prepare financial reports to track the organization's financial activities, including assets, liabilities, profit, loss, and tax liabilities. Responsibilities: • Undertake daily cash balance and reconciliation for banking accounts • Ensure proper maintenance and upkeep of Vendor Master, Material Master, and TRSNET for AP Vendors in SAP • Handle sales tax filings for various entities within the organization • Perform end of month cash updates and daily cash reports for treasury • Prepare US Geology Report and USGS Report for specific entities within the organization • Set up wire requests for payments as necessary and approve ACH payments on a weekly basis • Provide bank statements to the treasury on a monthly basis • Run Vertex Reports for sales tax reports and track intercompany drafts and deposits • Carry out SAP Foreign Exchange Valuation at month end • Handle payments to IRS for withholding tax for interest payments of intercompany loans • Post automatic drafts and clear cash account activity in SAP • Respond to inquiries from banks and verify payment of invoices associated with accounts payable, ensuring payments are charged to the appropriate accounts • Assist outside auditors by providing necessary account information and documents for annual audit • File required tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies • Coordinate with software vendor (Vertex) to maintain accounting software system and recommend updates to enhance the software • Perform other related duties as assigned. Requirements • Proven experience in the Stone/Glass/Concrete Manufacturing industry • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field • Proficient in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) • Prior experience with Bank Reconciliations • Knowledge of General Ledger and Journal Entries • Experience with Month End Close procedures • Proficiency in SAP software • Strong attention to detail and accuracy • Excellent communication and organizational skills • Ability to work independently and in a team environment • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Knowledge of applicable accounting standards and regulations • Ethical behavior when dealing with sensitive financial information • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel • Willingness to continue learning and improving accounting skills Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
