Responsibilities
Prepare and review monthly financial statements and management reports. Perform general ledger account reconciliations, including bank reconciliations. Ensure accurate month-end and year-end closings. Process supplier invoices and ensure prompt payment according to terms. Manage customer invoicing and follow up on outstanding accounts. Reconcile accounts receivable and payable balances. Assist with VAT calculations, submissions, and reconciliations in line with SARS regulations. Ensure adherence to B-BBEE, SARS, and IFRS standards. Assist with audits and provide relevant documentation for external and internal auditors. Monitor and report on cash flow to ensure adequate liquidity for operational needs. Support in preparing forecasts for short-term and long-term cash requirements. Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts. Analyze operational costs and variances to identify cost-saving opportunities. Support the Finance Manager in improving financial systems, processes, and controls. Utilize the company’s ERP system for enhanced financial data visibility and reporting.Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or National Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in accounting, preferably within the logistics or freight forwarding industry. Proficiency in accounting software (SAP, Pastel, or similar) and Microsoft Excel. Strong understanding of IFRS and South African GAAP. Experience with SARS regulations and VAT submissions. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Attention to detail with a high level of accuracy. Strong organizational and time-management abilities. Ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization. Experience in logistics or supply chain finance (preferred). Knowledge of South African B-BBEE compliance and reporting (preferred).
