Description We are offering an exciting opportunity in the private equity industry for a Staff Accountant located in Richmond, Virginia. In this role, you will be primarily responsible for handling various tax compliance processes, providing support for new business inquiries, and participating in ad hoc projects. Responsibilities: • Oversee the indirect tax filings, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. • Handle the Sales/Use Taxes, Tangible/Business Personal Property Taxes, Real Property Taxes, and Business License compliance processes. • Maintain customer exemption certificates and ensure their proper recording. • Support the Tax Director with research, planning opportunities, and legislative monitoring/advocacy. • Respond and assist with taxing authorities’ audit requests. • Engage in ad hoc projects and analysis as assigned. • Pull data from financial systems or collaborate with the relevant teams to obtain necessary data. • Analyze financial data for inclusion in returns or for making necessary corrections. • Calculate taxes due where necessary and ensure timely payments. • Monitor filing requirements independently for various companies located in multiple states. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting or a related field • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks • Experience with SAP S/4HANA is highly desirable • Familiarity with CCH ProSystem Fx • Ability to create Ad Hoc Reports • Strong understanding of compliance and compliance audit procedures • Experience with corporate income tax and corporate tax compliance • Knowledge of indirect tax and indirect tax compliance is essential • Experience with sales tax, including preparing and filing sales tax returns • Familiarity with monthly sales tax procedures • Experience with CCH Sales Tax • Proficiency in Vertex Sales & Use Tax is preferred Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
