Staff Accountant
Description Job Description We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to join our team. The Staff Accountant will play a critical role in supporting our financial operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting principles, and maintaining the general ledger. This position is ideal for a candidate with a strong understanding of accounting who is eager to make an impact in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities General Ledger Management: + Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accurate financial records. + Prepare and review journal entries for monthly, quarterly, and yearly closings (Source: RH Acronym Guide.docx). Financial Reporting: + Assist in preparing financial statements, balance sheets, and income statements. + Support internal and external audits by providing requested documentation and insights. Accounts Receivable/Payable: + Process vendor invoices, expense reimbursements, and resolve discrepancies promptly. + Monitor customer accounts for timely payments and record receipts accurately. Budgeting & Forecasting: + Participate in the development of budgets and forecasts in collaboration with other departments. + Provide variance analysis and recommendations for future financial planning. Compliance and Process Improvement: + Ensure financial operations comply with GAAP, company policies, and relevant regulations. + Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiencies in the accounting function. Payroll Support (if applicable): + Collaborate with the payroll department to ensure accurate recording of payroll transactions (Source: RH Acronym Guide.docx). Ad Hoc Projects: + Support ad hoc financial projects as directed by management. + Requirements Qualifications + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. + Minimum of 3+ years of relevant experience as a staff accountant or in a similar role. + Proficiency with accounting software such as [QuickBooks, NetSuite, SAP, or similar tools]. + Strong knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles). + Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and data analysis. + Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. + Effective verbal and written communication skills. + Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Preferred Qualifications: + Relevant certification such as CPA, CMA, or working toward obtaining one. + Experience with ERP systems and financial management tools.
