Staff Accountant
Description A client of ours in the manufacturing industry is looking to hire a Staff Accountant. Responsibilities: + Prepare and record asset, liability, revenue, and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing account information. + Maintain and balance subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, posting, and reconciling transactions and resolving discrepancies. + Generate various financial statements and report summaries for management, such as the monthly balance sheet, income statement, and changes in financial position. + Summarize financial status by collecting information and preparing balance sheet, profit and loss, and other statements. + Perform monthly balance sheet, income statement and changes in financial position/budget variance analyses. + Support the budget and forecasting activities, which may include budget consolidation, analysis and report generation. + Aid in preparing for audits and resolving audit findings. + Recommend financial actions by analyzing accounting options. + Maintain accounting controls by following policies and procedures and recommending improvements. + Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by researching existing and new legislation and maintaining up-to-date knowledge. Requirements Required Skills: + Strong understanding of GAAP principles and financial reporting. + Proficient with accounting software and MS Office, particularly MS Excel. + Strong attention to detail and problem-solving capability. + Excellent communication skills for conveying financial information to non-financial colleagues. + Organizational skills to manage and prioritize tasks for timely completion. + The ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Educational Qualifications: + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field. A Master's degree or CPA certification would be a plus. + 2-5 years of accounting experience, or a similar combination of education and experience.
