Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for a variety of accounting tasks, including daily metric reporting for sales, supporting accounts payable functions, and preparing financial and sales reports. This role is integral to the smooth operation of our financial processes and offers the opportunity to work closely with the Accounting Manager and various departments.
ResponsibilitiesReport daily metrics for sales.Support day-to-day operational activities of accounts payable functions.Review purchase orders, statements, and invoices to verify amounts owed, and record and process payments for debts owed by the organization.Perform banking functions, including positive pay uploads, exceptions, ACH, and other payments.Prepare and post journal entries for month-end close.Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations.Support interim and annual financial statement audits.Provide updated reports on Accounts Receivable balances on a regular schedule and as requested.Perform accounting research and determine the correct application.Identify, suggest, and implement process improvements.Perform other duties or responsibilities as requested by the Accounting Manager.Essential Skills3-5 years of experience in accounting, including AP, AR, GL, and bank reconciliations.Bachelor's degree in Accounting (Finance will also be considered).Experience with ERP systems, preferably Macola.Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, especially Excel.Understanding of internal controls and accrual accounting.Strong customer service skills, written and verbal communication skills, and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and as part of a team.Strong critical thinking and organizational skills.Sense of urgency and ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver assignments on time.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in an accounting or analysis role.Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities.Experience interacting with multiple departments and external vendors/customers.Work Environment
The position is based in a small office with approximately 40 employees on site. The Staff Accountant will work closely with the Accounting Manager and engage with all other departments, as well as interact with both vendors and customers. This role offers the opportunity to gain more responsibility over time and provides a dynamic environment for professional growth.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $34.00 - $36.00/hr.
