Description We are looking for a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join our team in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. In this role, you will support the financial operations of a construction team, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with accounting standards. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated accounting expert to contribute to property development and construction projects in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities: • Maintain detailed project-specific ledgers to ensure accurate financial tracking and reporting. • Prepare monthly accruals for completed work to ensure proper expense recognition. • Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for all project costs and transactions. • Perform general ledger tasks, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and account analysis. • Review financial contracts, such as leases and development agreements, to prepare accurate payment applications for landlords and partners. • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end reporting processes by preparing schedules and financial analyses. • Uphold audit compliance standards and maintain internal controls as per organizational policies. • Provide ad hoc financial analysis and contribute to special projects as needed Requirements Minimum Required Qualifications: Knowledge & Skills: + Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). + Solid understanding of general ledger accounting processes and systems. + Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (e.g., formulas, pivot tables, VLOOKUPs). Education: + Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting (required). Preferred Qualifications (Not Required): + CPA or progress toward CPA certification (preferred).
