Staff Accountant

Job Description:

The ITW Power Nailing division is seeking a Staff Accountant in our Glenview, IL location to provide accurate and timely financial information for internal and corporate reporting. The Staff Accountant will reconcile balance sheet accounts by predetermined due dates, manage cycle count process, inventory reporting and complete ad-hoc analysis as required.   This role will partner with Operations, Sales, and Marketing to improve overall performance/productivity and communicate effectively with internal and external partners.

Core Responsibilities:

Prepare monthly journal entries and account reconciliations for specified general ledger accounts.

Perform day-to-day general ledger accounting, financial reporting & analysis for assigned functional areas.

Monitor and maintain accurate records of inventory, cycle and physical counts. Work closely with the procurement, warehouse, and finance teams to ensure seamless inventory management processes

Research and resolve divisional inquiries from corporate or external partners.

Participate in the development, enhancement and monitoring of company internal controls.

Provide financial support for various special projects including cost analysis, internal/external audits, sales/use tax audits, manufacturing surveys and other ad-hoc requests.  

Ensure company policies are being followed as well as implementation of new controls as they arise.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required or equivalent advanced degree. CPA or MBA preferred

Minimum of 1-2 years of Accounting or Finance experience

Advanced MS Excel skill, Power BI or similar database experience

Working knowledge of ERP systems, financial report writers, business intelligence systems (e.g., Cognos, is a plus)

Strong business communication and excellent analytical skills, including the ability to analyze raw data and apply creative/innovative analysis, and the capability to form key, succinct, and actionable insights and recommendations

Collaborative and highly communicative, self-directed with high orientation to teamwork

Manufacturing and Cost Accounting experience preferred

Most time will be spent in an office environment.  Occasionally the employee may be required to spend time in manufacturing and construction sites.  Certain personal protective equipment is required when in the manufacturing areas and construction sites. Work is normally performed in an office environment. Travel requirements – Up to 10% to our other local NA facilities.

Annual base salary range for this position is $67,500 - $75,000. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Company considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.
